Prografen PLA Graphene Light

Prografen PLA Graphene Light is a high-quality polymer filament for 3D printers, made on biodegradable PLA basis. It contains approximately 0.5% edge-functionalized graphene flakes (EFG), which enhances the mechanical properties of the filament compared to standard PLA, while maintaining all the advantages of this popular material. The small amount of graphene increases strength, flexibility and wear resistance, making this filament more durable than traditional PLA. The material also exhibits good thermal conductivity, which can speed up the printing process while ensuring dimensional accuracy.

The filament can be easily printed using standard brass nozzles without the risk of excessive wear, unlike materials reinforced with carbon fibers. Prografen PLA Graphene Light is an ideal choice for designers, hobbyists and engineers who need a material with improved performance that is easy to print, without requiring advanced printer settings.

Graphene is a one-atom-thick material composed of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb structure, which significantly enhances the mechanical and functional properties of PET-G. Known for its remarkable strength, electrical and thermal conductivity, and flexibility, graphene is one of the most promising materials of the 21st century. Enriching PLA with graphene makes this filament well-suited for a wide range of demanding applications.

Material characteristics

  • good alternative for styrene-based materials
  • increased thermal resistance (up to 85°C) ? post annealed
  • extremely high impact resistance as compared to classic materials based on PLA
  • impact resistance nearly 50% higher than classic ABS material)
  • high durability comparable to ABS prints
  • higher process capacity due to the possibility to increase the printing speed (as a consequence of improved flowability)
  • perfect side surface
  • better adhesion between layers allowing for smoother side surfaces
  • easy separation of the object from the bed

Applications

  • functional prototyping
  • tooling
  • concept and demo prototyping of designed finished and semi-finished products
  • industrial design
  • parts that require high impact strength
