The Maker Faire, a renowned festival for do-it-yourself (DIY) enthusiasts, took place in Prague on June 9th and 10th, 2023. This event brought together a diverse range of makers, innovators, and hobbyists to showcase their creations and exchange ideas. During our discussions on 3D printing, we engaged in numerous interesting conversations, where our aim was to provide as many guidelines as possible regarding the appropriate material selection for equipment. It was a delightful faire and we are very glad for the support of our reseller – Materialpro3d.cz
Our 2 materials were the most interesting for the visitors:
Filament Spectrum PLA MATT, a PLA-based material, revolutionizes the appearance of 3D printed objects by providing a matte surface finish. Unlike traditional shiny surfaces, the matte finish enhances the aesthetic appeal and minimizes the visibility of layers on printed items' side surfaces. This filament inherits all the advantages of classic PLA, such as easy and efficient printing, low shrinkage, and excellent adhesion between layers and build platforms. Additionally, the incorporation of additives in Spectrum PLA MATT improves its temperature resistance, impact resistance, and reduces brittleness, resulting in more durable and rigid printed items.
Another notable filament showcased at the Maker Faire Prague was the Filament Spectrum PA6 Low Warp CF15S. This filament is based on polyamide 6 (PA6), known for its exceptional mechanical strength, stiffness, vibration-damping ability, and abrasion resistance. The "LowWarp" model contains additional mixtures that improve material flow during extrusion, enhancing adhesion between material particles. With 15% carbon fibers, this filament offers more than twice the stiffness and increased tensile strength of up to 120 MPa. Moreover, Spectrum PA6 Low Warp CF15S exhibits higher HDT thermal resistance of 180°C (0.45MPa) compared to its unfilled version.
It was a pleasure meeting you at the fair, and we are looking forward to the upcoming events with great anticipation.
